Dr. Saavedra was born in Kingsville, Texas and moved to the Texas Hill Country to attend Texas State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. He later went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Kentucky College of Optometry in Pikeville, Kentucky. He completed his externship training at Abell Eyes Refractive Solutions in Lexington, Kentucky, the Jack C
Montgomery VA Medical center in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Healthcare system in Harlingen, Texas. He has helped many veterans and patients achieve their best corrected visual acuity, manage ocular disease, and guide pre and post operative surgical care.
Dr. Saavedra specializes in complex refractions, soft contact lens fittings, co management of pre and post operative surgical care including LASIK and cataract surgery, glaucoma, dry eye, and ocular disease.
In his free time, Dr. Saavedra likes to watch movies, play Fortnite, chess, practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and spend time with his wife, Sandy, and German shepard, Ava.
